This photo had to be posted by itself, as we hit the image limit on the post below. This was taken by Chris with our new camera. What a face!

Scroll down to read about Jackson's first Christmas.
Merry Christmas! Though Jackson may not have felt the excitement of getting presents, he certainly enjoyed the pretty wrapping paper. And there was lots of wrapping paper, as he was spoiled completely by everyone in the family!
We celebrated Christmas with Kira's side of the family on 12/17. It wouldn't be a visit to Scituate without some time with Grampy. Notice Jack's cute Christmas outfit.
It might look like Jack's about to say something to Pop, but actually he's just getting ready to once again put something in his mouth.
Here is Jack and Daddy on Christmas Eve in Vermont. They like to be silly together and Chris can always get him smiling.
Look at this tall, serious boy. Jack loves to stand up and jump up and down on your lap. It can be exhausting for your arms!
Jack got some early presents on Christmas Eve from Mommy & Daddy, including a set of instruments that he will use in his Music Together class that starts in January. Someday he'll understand that maracas are for shaking, not eating.
Ah, the binky!
A tired looking Mommy holds Jack for the camera on Christmas morning. This is his other Christmas outfit. He looks like a little elf in it.
Jack took a real liking to his Auntie Néné and spent quite a bit of time in her lap, playing with toys and pulling her hair.

Such A Big Boy! Take a look at this! Yesterday Jackson sat up on his own! He does very well if he's leaning forward a bit, but will fall over if he leans back or to the side. He loves playing with the new blocks Grandma & Pop gave him.
This past week he has also started holding onto his feet whenever he's on his back. Occasionally he even puts one in his mouth. He usually does this when Mommy's trying to change his diaper, which makes it difficult for her. But who cares when it's so much fun?
Last week Pop drove down for a visit. Jackson really likes it when Pop walks him around like this, facing outward so he can see everything there is to see, especially the cat. He loves to watch Osiris.

We took some beautiful photos with our new camera of Jack's first Christmas with the Jacksons this past Sunday. We'll post them soon!

The Oral Stage. Right now it's all about the mouth with Jackson. Every thing he sees, he reaches out for with both hands and slowly brings into his mouth, whether it's a toy, a piece of paper, Mommy's cheek, Daddy's nose, a bag of bagels, you name it.
This little toy box still makes a great seat until Jack can sit up on his own. It gives Mommy's arms a much needed break! Today at our Mothers & Infants group, Jackson especially liked grabbing his friend Hunter's ears. Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of that because Mommy didn't have a free hand.
Last week we had lunch with Uncle Mark (Kira's boss at the Tennis Hall of Fame). Jackson does very well in restaurants, thanks in most part to the binky, or "hooshee" as his cousin Aliza calls it.

Many Developments! Jackson seems to be progressing so quickly. He will be 5 months old tomorrow!

Recently he rolled over from belly to back three times in a row! He's been pursing his lips and blowing raspberries as well as babbling little cute sounds like he's trying to make words. At his doctor's app't last week, he weighed 13 pounds 12 ounces.
While in NH this past weekend, he had a great time with Grandma and Pop as we moved them back into their Chester home. Lately he likes to reach out with both hands and grab your chin, mouth and nose. (You can get a glimpse over Barb's head of the peach & green paint in the new kitchen.)
Something about Grandma always relaxes him enough to fall deeply asleep. And once again he's got his hands wrapped around a toy as he dozes.
Jack likes it when Pop sings in his off-key voice, especially Oscar's "I Love Trash."
Grandma and Pop put up their Christmas tree Monday night so Jack could enjoy the lights. He was fascinated with the shiny, orange ornaments we hung on the branches. (Notice the light blue walls of the livingroom.)
I guess you could say Jack's a big fan of Christmas already!
