Jack is very subdued here, watching his Baby Mozart DVD from Grandma. He is wearing one of his new outfits from Auntie Andrea. Next weekend Mommy and Jack will be driving to NH so he can meet our friends and family up North, including Andrea and our neighbors in Chester.
Daddy has to be silly, trying to copy Jack's big eyes when Mommy snaps a photo.
Here is Jack's current favorite pastime - chewing on his hands. More often than not, he now has one or both in his mouth.
Lookin' happy in his new pj's from Grandma.
A possible caption for this one is "Another photo, Mom? Come on!"

Cutest baby ever! We had visits from both Grandpa and Grandma Narlee this week. You can see that Jackson feels very comfortable in their arms. He gets lots of attention and of course, lots of presents. New clothes and new toys are fun for both Mommy and Jack.

Jackson is talking up a storm now, babbling away and making all sorts of interesting sounds. Sometimes it's as if he's telling us an involved and important story. We love to listen to him.
Friday evening was beautiful, so we put on one of Jack's new sweaters and went for a walk. But first, Grandma took some photos of Jack & Mommy in the front yard. He did pretty well in his stroller for the first half of the walk, but eventually became frustrated. He's not crazy about that stroller, unfortunately.

Jack is 11 weeks old this Thursday. He smiles more and more, especially when Mommy sings Old McDonald or Daddy sings the theme to the Dukes of Hazzard. He also likes to relax with Daddy while listening to the Grateful Dead.
He has been working very hard on getting first his hand and now his thumb into his mouth. He has finally gotten the thumb there, but he's not sure what to do with it. He pushes it around inside his mouth and then tries with the other thumb.
This Sunday we visited Chris's grandmother, "Grammie," in Haverhill, MA. She was so excited to meet her first great grandchild. Jack sat very quietly in her arms when we first arrived and later he kept staring at her and breaking into big smiles.

Chris's Dad Michael was there too and Jackson sat with Grandpa and got kisses.

Sleepy Monkey! This weekend we visited Bonnie in Burlington, VT. Jackson was very comfortable in Grandma's arms and had a very nice nap.
Bonnie took this pic of Mommy & Jack. Kira loves holding him while he's sleeping. He's so peaceful and sweet.
Jack generally wakes up around 7am, gets his diaper changed and has something to eat. Then Mommy places him on a pillow in her lap and he sleeps some more while she reads or draws him in her sketchbook (http://artsykira.blogspot.com). Here he is this morning, looking pretty comfortable.

2 Months! Tomorrow Jack will be two months old. It's incredible that he's been in our lives for that long. The day of his birth still seems like it was just yesterday. And yet he has grown and developed so much in such a short time.
His neck is incredibly strong. He likes leaning on Daddy's chest and looking around. At the pediatrician's last week (for vaccinations - yuck!) he weighed 10 lbs 10 oz.
Jack is also much more aware of his surroundings. He focuses on objects and stares at them for a good amount of time, making gurgly noises and reaching out to touch them. His vibrating chair has the attachment you see above to which we can stick certain toys. He likes to bang this giraffe and make it rattle.
Jack loves his Daddy. When Chris talks to him, even from across the room where Jack's eyes can't quite reach yet, he becomes instantly alert and will break into a big smile.

Grandma came for a visit yesterday. She and Jack got some good snuggle time.
Here he is looking rather serious...

And here he is not so serious - giving Grandma a smile.

Grandpa Visits! This week Grandpa Narlee drove down to RI to spend the day with Kira and Jack. He watched over Jack while Kira got things done around the house, like laundry and dishes. It was very nice.
Jack is clearly very comfortable in Grandpa's arms.

He also likes to sleep in his vibrating chair and sometimes gets into amusing positions.
