Week 40. We're sorry we are unable to post the latest ultrasound photo or a shot of Kira's belly, but Kira's computer finally kicked the bucket. The best we can do is tell you that Jackson is 3 days late and not much is happening.

We had an appointment this morning and after some tests/exams, were told that Jack is doing very well in Kira's belly and is around 6lbs 14oz. Kira was having some regular contractions while at the office, but they have since dissipated. And she is still only 1 cm. dilated - the same as one week ago. Bummer!

If Jack doesn't arrive by next Thursday, we will go to Charlton Hospital so they can induce labor. Let's hope he decides to join us before then!

37 Week Ultrasound. Okay, so we're already up to 39 weeks, but our internet connection has been crappy, not allowing us to post anything new for a while.

This is baby Jackson at 37 weeks. We had to make sure he had turned, and thank goodness, he had. At this appointment, the doctor said he will likely be a little over 6 lbs. at birth, which makes Kira feel very relieved. She was having nightmares of a 10 lb. baby.

At last week's appointment, Kira found out she is at 50% effacement, which means her cervix is half-way to being ready for Jack to come on out. Hooray!

And what will this cat do when Jack arrives and Kira's arms are full and Chris doesn't have the time to play with him anymore?

We recently had a visit from Wonder Woman, a.k.a. Bonnie Cortese. In one weekend, she got Chris to help paint the nursery (at last!), install the screen on the back slider, install a storm door out front, and install the nursery room door. None of that would have happened without her. Thank you, thank you, thank you Bonnie!

Here's a photo of Kira and Bonnie on her last day in Barrington. Kira is at 36 weeks here. Eek!

Please note the lovely storm door behind them.
